Maybe you’ve been looking for an opportunity for a while because your more the analytical type and take your time before making decisions. Or maybe your a true gunslinger, a true, ready fire aim kind of person and have already been in a few opportunities with no luck so far in generating a real income from home. Well, whatever your situation is I
would like to help you when it comes to sorting through MLM opportunities and choosing something that will work for you.
The first thing to consider when looking at getting involved with an MLM is understand the difference between a network marketing company and a direct sales company. In many ways they are the same but they also have some key differences.
With a network marketing company you primary goal should be to build a large team of people underneath you over time. These people will be looking to do the same that you are doing. Mainly offering whatever your companies product or service is to the market place and generating commissions. This can either be done directly to consumers who are only interested in purchasing products. Or to other networkers who are also looking for an additional income stream.
With regards to a network marketing company. Some of the things you want to look for are.
1. A quality product. (Perhaps one that you might use anyway)
2. Company age. I’ve seen companies come and go. It’s tough for a new company to get over the 5 year hump in this industry. Statistically on 100th of 1% actually do. If you absolutely are in love with the product, this could be overlooked, but do so at your own risk.
3. Management Team – Who is leading the company? Do they have experience and have they ever been in the field. This is very important and can easily be researched online.
4. Bad press – I’m sure that every single network marketing company in existence has at leas some bad press. The only way that they wouldn’t is if they were completely stagnant. Just make sure that there is not a ton of bad press. If you are reading horror stories wherever you do your research, then you may want to reconsider.
5. What I also suggest that you do is call maybe 5 different people who are advertising the company on the Internet and speak to them for a few moments on the phone. Ask them to describe their experiences with the company.
These are the main things that you should be looking for when it comes to a network marketing company. Some folks go on and on about how their compensation plan is the best etc. At the end of the day, that matters less then the points that I made above. Most compensation plans pay out enough money to make you rich if you promote the business successfully.
Direct Sales -
Direct sales is a slightly different beast. With direct sales you will be earning much higher commissions per sales. The price point for most direct sales products is much higher than it is for network marketing companies. Generally the price points are between $500 – $3000 but there are programs that have price points as high as $12,000. The income potential with these price points is obviously very high. The market is obviously much smaller as well because fewer people can afford to get involved with programs at that level.
With direct sales programs there really is not “true” long term residual income as there are no recurring costs. It’s a one time deal. Make your commission and move on to the next deal. The rules for picking out a direct sales company are much the same as with picking out a network marketing company. There are far fewer to choose from and there are none that I know of with the long history except for many one or two.
If you are searching for a direct sales company to join then you should certainly spend a good deal of time speaking to people that are working the business. Try to find people that are operating somewhat behind the scenes. In other words, don’t only speak to people at the top of the search engines. Speak to people a different levels and see what kind of support they are receiving as well.
There are many types on MLM Opportunities to choose from but whatever program that you decide to join. More important than the program itself is the system that you are using to promote it. In order to succeed you must be able to generate leads and convert those leads into sales. That’s pretty much the bottom line. If you don’t understand that process then your failure is guaranteed and you will become just another statistic.
