I’ve been re-reading a book by Dr. Dwayne Dyer called “Real Magic”

I don’t know if you are familiar with his work but he’s huge in the spiritual development self improvement field. He has specials on PBS and a library of books that he’s written over the years.

In that particular book there is a chapter on prosperity that is very powerful. It’s funny how you can re-read certain things and it’s as though you are reading them for the very first time.

In this chapter on prosperity Dr. Dyer talks about how our circumstances reflect our thought processes. That would include our business circumstances as well.

Many of us in the home based industry got involved because we were looking for a financial break through.

Generally what happens is that we are introduced to the industry via some sort of presentation, whether it be online or at a hotel meeting or conference call or whatever.

This is where we hear these stories about life changing events.

We hear stories about people being broke and depressed and just about ready to lose everything. Or, we hear about people not knowing what they want to do with their lives, people that were just looking for “something.”

Many of us can relate to these stories and so when we see the results of these individuals participation in the company we become very excited, wanting the same level of success for ourselves and for our families.

That’s great, it’s a wonderful thing to live life with passion and a powerful goal.

But that’s where it get’s funny.

What happens I believe is that here is where we begin to fight rather than to flow. Getting people into your downline becomes the focus. So we fight to get it. We grind out more and more ways to talk to more people and generate more leads. Mentally we are in a battle with ourselves to figure out the “best” way to do things that will be the most effective.

The trouble with that is that “we” are actually primarily energy. That’s proven, so it’s not me just saying that. The universe is mostly space, and although we appear to be solid individuals made up of flesh and bone. We are actually mostly space, or energy. So is everything else. That’s why your thoughts create your reality .

So, if we are grinding each and every day. Fighting to make our business a success we are actually “creating” the struggle for ourselves. We are so focused on achieving the goal that we are not flowing with the moment. Then we base our feelings on whether or not we achieved that goal. We feel good if we did and we feel bad if we don’t. Then we compare ourselves with other people. If we have a bigger team perhaps we feel better, but if they have a bigger team, then why is that? Why are they better than we are, and so the fight in our mind continues and we continue to create more of the same.

If we would just forget about the outcome for just a minute and focus instead on the task at hand with full purpose, the pressure removes itself and we are much, much closer to the flow. When we begin to see ourselves as mostly “space” or “energy” and realize that our thoughts over time are actually creating the circumstances because they determine our actions. Then we would be much more able to create circumstances that are in alignment with prosperity, ease, and fun.



Think of someone right now that seems to be in flow. Someone that you look to who seems to have everything that you desire in your own life. Whether it be money, possessions, business, whatever. Ok, got it? Now, just know that the energy flowing through that person is the very same energy that is flowing through you. The only difference is in the way that person is perceiving the energy, in the way they are shaping or molding the energy. That’s the only difference. Your abundance is already there, the energy is everywhere including streaming through you right now. It contains everything that you could ever desire. The only thing preventing that energy from manifesting your desires is your mind.

Forget about your business. Be purposeful in your tasks. By be purposeful I mean to say, perform each task without attachment to a goal. When you speak to someone on the phone about your business. Don’t be attached to the outcome of the call. Be with that person on the call 100% with the purpose of service and helping that person in their life in some way shape or form. That’s it. Nothing else. When you do this, you are moving closer to the flow. Then when you are in the flow, prosperity automatically shows up because that’s what prosperity is. Remember you are mostly space/energy, so when your energy or space becomes prosperity so will it manifest into the physical as well.

I know that this might sound a bit woo woo or like mumbo jumbo to some of you. If that’s the case then let me just say this. If things in your life and business are not the way that you want them to be right now, just try it out for 30 days. If things don’t drastically change for you in a positive way after that time, then you can go back to doing things the way that you’ve been doing them and tell me that I was dead wrong.

If you are using a blog to generate lead flow then surely you are using SEO. Search Engine Optimization. For those not familiar with the term it simply means that you get google to notice your blog or any piece of content that you write and place on the Internet. You can do this by writing posts on your blog or you can do this by writing articles or using other formats that I won’t get into here.



In order to get your blog or content ranking high in the search engines you need what are called back links. This means that other sites are linking from their site to yours. There are many methods of doing this. I show you one method in this blog post. It’s backlinking by mass submitting articles. While this method works, it is just one method. The number of backlinks pointing to your blog or content is one important factor. Another factor that may be even more important is the authority of the site that is linking to you. All sites have what is called a PR (Page Rank) number. The numbers go from n/a – 10. Most sites on the net have n/a no ranking at all. Facebook on the other hand has a PR 10. A link pointing to your blog/content on the net with a PR 2 is about 100 times more powerful than a link with a PR 1. It continues that way all the way up the scale.



In addition, getting links to your blog or content from sites that end with the extension .edu or .gov are more powerful than sites that end in .com or .net etc.



Here is an example of some content that I got ranked in google in the very first spot of google. I goes up and down between one and two depending on the day. Go to google and type in the words (Jeff Scam) My content is titled “A comprehensive review of the Jeff Paul System” The term has 2,480,000 competing pages and I got it ranked in just a few days with simple back linking.



One simple way of getting links to sites is by posting comments on blogs that have a high PR. The trick is in how to find them.



Well I’m going to show you how to find them right here.

Copy and past the above search query into your browser EXACTLY as it is here. It has to be exactly the same with spaces etc or it will not work.



This will find blogs that allow you to make comment posts directly to edu sites.



You can do the same for sites that end in .gov though you will find that there are far fewer sites. Just replace the .edu in the link above with .gov



You can also exchange www.goarticles.com with www.ezinearticles.com and this will bring you a bunch more blogs that you can backlink from as well.



One thing to mention is that this is considered back link spamming be some people. You want to make your comment relevant to the post. Try to provide some value to the page. As you are searching through these sites you will see that most people don’t do this. I recommend that you do.



That’s it. You can now find and get backlinks from Authority sites that end in .gov or .edu on command.

Although I absolutely love our industry because of everything that it can represent. Freedom, entrepreneur ism, fun, adventure, creativity, independence and community to name a few. There is one thing that I absolutely cannot stand about our industry.

HYPE

I remember when I first got started in network marketing about 10 years ago or so. I won’t mention the company, because it really doesn’t matter. But I will tell you that the presentation was pretty much a HYPE feast. When I first arrived there was heart thumping raver music playing in the background. Not to say that I was expecting Vivaldi’s “Winter” from “The Four Seasons” to be playing or Sounds of the tropical rain forest. But I also wasn’t expecting to start raving either.

I’m more joking here than being angry. Life’s to short, know what I mean?

Anyway….

The presentation started with the first presenter on stage. This was a lower lever leader in the company. If you want to equate it to a military rank I would say maybe a lieutenant or a captain. A nice story about the company and how wonderful it is. That’s understandable, I mean after all this is a business meeting to get new reps into the business.

After about 15 minutes or so, the lights were dimmed and we were shown the company movie. Still all systems are go.

Then it was time to introduce what I would call one of the Generals. This is one of those super star grand high exalted mystic rulers. This guys is standing in the back of the room and when he starts walking up towards the stage. EVERYONE stood up and started clapping. Since everyone was doing it, I did too. Why? I have no idea, I didn’t even know who this guy was, but I still stood up clapping. Was it mind control??? I’m just kidding, but I know I wasn’t the only brand new person there and everyone was off there feet clapping for this person that they didn’t know. That’s Hype in my opinion.

Anyway, he gave his presentation talking about the business and the money and the lifestyle and how if you just tell 2 people that tell 2 people that tell 2 people, in a short while you’d be making 10k – 20k per month.

That is what I can’t stand about our industry. That is complete nonsense. I mean, yes, mathematically it works. But the math does not copy reality in this case. That never happens. Maybe once upon a time when network marketing was in it’s infancy something along those lines may have happened. But it doesn’t today. Which is why about 90% of people that get started in a network marketing company quit within their first 90 days.

The company didn’t live up to the hype. Nor could it.

If you want to make a full time income from home, you absolutely can do it.

But first you have to figure out a few things.

1. How soon do you want to be making a full time income.

2. How much money do you have to invest into your business?

3. How much time do you have to invest into your business?

If you feel comfortable with the fact that in most cases it will take the average person that talks to about 5 people per day about their business 2 – 5 years to get to full time income. Then you will do well in a network marketing company. Obviously do your research on the company and pick one that has a product in alignment with your interests.

If you are wanting to generate full time income more quickly from home then you will need a direct sales or top tier company. The profit margins are much higher, and you make much more per sale. It’s the fastest way that I know if to go full time in the industry. Again you will have to do your due diligence in picking the right company.

Either way, telling 2 people about your business won’t cut it. You’ll need a specific marketing strategy. You’ll need a consistent way to generate leads and some sort of a funnel to run those leads through in order to sort them.

You’ll need some way to track and collect data so that you can increase your marketing in the areas that are showing the most profit.

In other words you need to treat your business like a business and not some “thing” that you kinda do every once in a while.

If you get serious about your marketing, tracking and your process. You can absolutely go full time in the industry in a matter of months with a very serious income. It is possible, but these are the things that you will need to do.

Don’t let the hype fool you. This industry is wonderful, but in order to successful you have to do things in a certain way.

This post is not exactly about business topics or tactics although it most certainly does effect your business in a big way. This is something that happened to me over the weekend and although it really sucked, I’m also really glad that it happened.

On Saturday I was in the back of my house and I was planning on watering some plants and hosing some things down as well. On the side of the house is where I keep the hose. When I went to grab it I noticed that below the hose was a small puddle of water. I didn’t think too much about it because water collects there from time to time when I’m watering etc.

When I looked a little closer I realized that this water hadn’t come from the hose but was actually coming from under ground up through the cement. Needless to say I wasn’t happy. I’m certainly no plumber but I wanted to investigate the situation a bit further. I got a hammer and a screwdriver and started making a small hole where the water was seeping up. The pipe was only about 1/2″ below the concrete. I found it quickly. Sure enough, the pipe had a hole in it.

Just stay with me, I’ll get to what this has to do with money in a second .

It was obvious by the hole in the pipe that before laying the cement someone punctured the pipe and rather than fix it, they just poured cement over the top. I had already shut the water off to the house and I want to turn it back on to see how bad the leak was. Well the water shot up about 12 feet in the air like a small geyser. I couldn’t believe it, it was a huge leak.

I called the insurance company. I don’t know if any of you have ever called your insurance company about a situation like this, but it was the vaguest conversation I’ve ever had. They didn’t cover it because nothing was damaged inside of the house. Next I called my plumber. He came over to take a look and confirmed that yes there was leak and yes there was a hole in the pipe. My diagnosis was correct, I have more plumbing skills than I originally thought.

We made a deal that he would come over on Sunday and fix the leak. That meant that we had a night without water. That’s another story all by itself. When one of life’s basic necessities and the ease at which we receive it is cut off even for a short while, it changes your perspective on things.

Anyway, my plumber came over yesterday and fixed the leak. Now here’s the fun part.

The first shower that I took after the leak was fixed was different than any other had been since we moved in over 3 years ago. The water fresher was much, much higher. That means, that the leak was pouring out water underground for over 3 full years. It almost makes me sick to think how much water was wasted and how much money got leaked into that hole under ground. I’m sure it was thousands. ;-(

Now there was no way for us to know other than asking our neighbors what their monthly water bills were. We just assumed that our bill was what it was and  never second guessed. The house we moved into was a larger house and so we expected a larger bill.

I’m a believer in the concept that our outside surroundings are many times a reflection of what’s going on inside of us. If I believe that in this case, I’m actually very grateful. It means that some sort of leak, whether it be energy or money revealed itself and was stopped.

Again, we had no idea that the leak was there, but it was. Maybe we could have done some things to prevent all of the waste, I don’t know. The point is that it made me more aware that it’s possible to have these kinds of leaks in our lives and not even notice them because they are beneath the surface.

Take some time to reflect on your life and see if you can find any areas where you might be leaking money or energy. If you don’t look you might miss it. We didn’t look and we did. Now it’s plugged up and so I’m sharing this with you in case you are leaking.

Went swimming yesterday at Julies parents house. Julie is my girlfriend, soon to be fiance. So we were swimming at her folks house and hers sister was there wither her 5 hear old son Wily. He’s just learning to swim without his floaties on yesterday his courage soared. His father Johnny and I were trying to teach him to dive head first into the pool.

For his first try I was standing in the water and he got out of the water with his floaties till on. He stood on the side of the pool looking at us. He had a divers mask on and he was ready.

Since it was his first try, I remember thinking to myself “he’s probably gonna do a cannon ball”

We gave him the count. One, two, three.

To my complete surprise little Willy struck his arms straight out and dove into the water like superman. He hit the water with a loud slap. It was an amazing belly flop. I know that it must have stung, but he didn’t bat an eye. Within a few moments he was back out and trying again.

I was so impressed. He showed tremendous courage.

It made me realize that many times all it takes to become successful in something is the courage to take that first leap. Maybe things won’t work out exactly like you wanted them to, but then you just get back up, make some adjustments and try again.

If you have not yet found the success in your business that you want. Is there something holding you back? Have you been hesitating because of fear?

Well take it from little Willy. Go for it. You might do a little belly flop, but that’s ok. You can try again. And again, then eventually you will get it right.

One more thing to mention is that Willy had us there. Meaning that he had his father and me to coach him. We showed him a bunch of times how to dive in the water before he ever gave it a try. I’m sure it would have taken him much longer to do it all on his own.

I recently heard that the fastest computers right now process information as fast as the human brain. In 10 years computers will process information 500 times faster than the human brain. I know I got a bit off track, but the point is that it’s important to stay with the times in order to be the most effective.

When it comes to your mlm business there are so many new strategies available to you to help you build your business quickly easily and effectively. Using a blog is a must because of the exposure that it can offer you. Exposure that you can get for free. Not only is blogging a way for you to stay in communication with your team, but it can also help you to attract people to your team, cause or tribe from all across the globe.

Blogs are very easy to set up and connect to other social media outlets.

You can use your blog to generate leads for your MLM as well. By providing solid information surrounding certain quality key words like (mlm blog) you will get ranked in the organic search engines bringing you free traffic. Then by offering something of value  to prospects you will begin generating leads. If you stay focused, this strategy alone could generate you 40 leads per day.

Maybe you’ve been looking for an opportunity for a while because your more the analytical type and take your time before making decisions. Or maybe your a true gunslinger, a true, ready fire aim kind of person and have already been in a few opportunities with no luck so far in generating a real income from home. Well, whatever your situation is I would like to help you when it comes to sorting through MLM opportunities and choosing something that will work for you.

The first thing to consider when looking at getting involved with an MLM is understand the difference between a network marketing company and a direct sales company. In many ways they are the same but they also have some key differences.

With a network marketing company you primary goal should be to build a large team of people underneath you over time. These people will be looking to do the same that you are doing. Mainly offering whatever your companies product or service is to the market place and generating commissions. This can either be done directly to consumers who are only interested in purchasing products. Or to other networkers who are also looking for an additional income stream.

With regards to a network marketing company. Some of the things you want to look for are.

1. A quality product. (Perhaps one that you might use anyway)

2. Company age. I’ve seen companies come and go. It’s tough for a new company to get over the 5 year hump in this industry. Statistically on 100th of 1% actually do.  If you absolutely are in love with the product, this could be overlooked, but do so at your own risk.

3. Management Team – Who is leading the company? Do they have experience and have they ever been in the field. This is very important and can easily be researched online.

4. Bad press – I’m sure that every single network marketing company in existence has at leas some bad press. The only way that they wouldn’t is if they were completely stagnant. Just make sure that there is not a ton of bad press. If you are reading horror stories wherever you do your research, then you may want to reconsider.

5. What I also suggest that you do is call maybe 5 different people who are advertising the company on the Internet and speak to them for a few moments on the phone. Ask them to describe their experiences with the company.

These are the main things that you should be looking for when it comes to a network marketing company. Some folks go on and on about how their compensation plan is the best etc. At the end of the day, that matters less then the points that I made above. Most compensation plans pay out enough money to make you rich if you promote the business successfully.

Direct Sales -

Direct sales is a slightly different beast. With direct sales you will be earning much higher commissions per sales. The price point for most direct sales products is much higher than it is for network marketing companies. Generally the price points are between $500 – $3000 but there are programs that have price points as high as $12,000. The income potential with these price points is obviously very high. The market is obviously much smaller as well because fewer people can afford to get involved with programs at that level.

With direct sales programs there really is not “true” long term residual income as there are no recurring costs. It’s a one time deal. Make your commission and move on to the next deal. The rules for picking out a direct sales company are much the same as with picking out a network marketing company. There are far fewer to choose from and there are none that I know of with the long history except for many one or two.

If you are searching for a direct sales company to join then you should certainly spend a good deal of time speaking to people that are working the business. Try to find people that are operating somewhat behind the scenes. In other words, don’t only speak to people at the top of the search engines. Speak to people a different levels and see what kind of support they are receiving as well.

There are many types on MLM Opportunities to choose from but whatever program that you decide to join. More important than the program itself is the system that you are using to promote it. In order to succeed you must be able to generate leads and convert those leads into sales. That’s pretty much the bottom line. If you don’t understand that process then your failure is guaranteed and you will become just another statistic.

Ok, so it doesn’t matter if you you have been with your MLM for a long time or if you are just getting started. This information will be beneficial to you either way.

The reason is that regardless of where you are in your business, your ability to take your business to the next level completely depends on your lead flow. So how do you go about generating new leads for your business? There are several different methods actually. The first one is utilizing what is known as your warm market. That method has worked for a number of years and has actually created small fortunes for some. Personally I don’t feel that it’s the best way because it takes a very thick skin to absorb the amount of rejection that comes along with it and not want to quit the business.

The other and much more obvious way to generate a consistent flow of leads for your business is by advertising.

There are some things to think about from the beginning here.

First thing to think about is this.

Are you going to be advertising your products or will you be advertising your business opportunity.

There are two schools of thought here. I’ll give you both and give you some reasoning behind both.

1st – Leading with your product is the first one. The reasoning behind this is that in MLM there is a very high turnover rate. I mean that many people will get started in MLM and be gone within there first 120 days. There are many reasons for that but we’ll save that for another discussion. So the reasoning behind leading with your products is that if someone joins your company because they actually enjoy the product and would be purchasing it anyway, they have much more stickability. After they are a customer for sometime, you could then introduce them to the business opportunity. By building this way the concept is that you have a much more solid team.

2nd – Leading with your opportunity is the second one. The reasoning behind this is very simple. Most people out there in the industrialized world unfortunately are not completely happy with their lives. They wish they had more, they wish they made more money, they wish that they could keep up with the Jones’. It’s kind of sad when you think about it, but for the most part it’s true. Then you add into the mix a global recession. Many people during this time have lost their jobs and are really looking for an opportunity to help financially. These people have a strong need and so they have become a target for savvy marketers. This is why you are seeing such a massive influx of business opportunities and coaching programs all over the internet.

So there you have two very different approaches to building your mlm. I’m not saying that either way is right or wrong. Feel it out and see what makes more sense to you.

Now in either case you will still need to advertise either you business opportunity or your product/service.

There are literally hundreds of ways to advertise your MLM. However, the most successful people that I know really only utilize about 10 or so. These are the only ones that I will list here.

MLM Advertising Choices

1. PPC – Through Google, Yahoo, or MSN/Bing

2. Ezine Ads – Solo ads or buying access to other peoples newsletter subscriber lists

3. Voice Broadcasting – This will mostly work for option 2 above because voice broadcasting may not only be used business to business.

4. Media buys – Buying adspace on Websites

5. Social Media – Buying ads on Facebook Myspace or other social media channels.

6. Video Marketing – Creating informative videos that either teach or give insight into specific topics

7. Article Marketing – Creating unique content on specific topics and posting the content on article directories

8. Post Cards – Sending out post cards to business opportunity seekers

9. Blogging – Create a blog load it with unique and interesting content and then promote the content

10. Social Networking – Communicating with people through Facebook etc. and offer to help others achieve their goals thereby creating relationships or maybe even a tribe of your own.

Now I know that some of you are thinking that I left out a ton of stuff. Yes, there are lot’s of additional ways to advertise your mlm. Like I said though, the most successful people that I know in MLM right now are using the ways that I have listed right here. I’m talking about 7 figure and even 8 figure incomes here.

The order of these advertising mediums is pretty much the way that I would have it. For those that are just getting started I would consider #3 simply because learning google ppc can be costly and if that is a concern then voice broadcasting will be a much easier way to generate inexpensive leads very quickly. This can only be business to business but it is very effective.

As you get started with you MLM career I can’t even begin to convey the importance of getting some solid training. How you get started in the business can literally be the difference between losing money, being frustrated, quitting or having a legitimate business that gives you the type of lifestyle and income you’d hoped for and was the reason that you got started in the first place.

Now here is where I give you some straight talk. Mostly when you go online to websites/blogs and people are reviewing products and services it’s because they are an affiliate to either one or all of those recommended products and if you buy one, they make a commission. Now there is nothing wrong with that. In fact I would recommend that as you build your business you do exactly the same thing. It’s called affiliate marketing.

Having said that, it’s important that you actually use or believe in the product that you are recommending. That’s something that not all affiliate marketers do. Many affiliate marketers will simply find a product that has a nice commission and promote it, hoping that you will buy it.

I just want you to know that every product on this blog that you ever see me promote, I either use continually or have used in the past with solid results. If that’s not the case, I will tell you so flat out.

Now that we have that out of the way here are my recommendations for you to get some solid MLM Training.

OK, so at the top of my picks list is MLSP

This is a complete system that includes on-going training, tracking features, capture page creation and tons more. It was founded by 3 great guys whom I’ve had the privilege of spending time with in Vegas. I personally use this system each and every day and I only have the best things to say about it. MLSP will enable you to turn many of the people who say no to your primary business into income. This is a powerful concept that I definitely encourage you to adopt. One of the products that I actually offer as a part of the MLSP system is a product by a guy named Mike Dillard, called Magnetic Sponsoring. Now you may already be familiar with this product because it really changed our entire industry actually. Mike was actually one of the brains behind a concept called the funded proposal. This concept has allowed Mike to actually create an 8 figure business. That’s right, not 7 but 8 figures. That’s pretty impressive, considering that he did it in about 6 or 7 years. Needless to say that he knows what he’s doing and has also helped a number of other people achieve a tremendous amount of success as well.  Here is the banner for Mike and Magnetic Sponsoring. The next system and person that  I would recommend to you is Daegan Smith and his Maximum Leverage. Now just so you know, I’m not a paying member of Maximum Leverage, although I am on Daegans list and listen very carefully to the things that he says. If you visit his website and get on his list he will give you great content for free via video and his blog. Daegan has been around for a while and has become one of the mlm guru superstars. He’s the real deal and I recommend him as offering a very powerful training platform.

Finally I’d like to recommend to you. Mr. Jonathan Budd. This guy is really something else. At the time I’m writing this blog post I think Jonathan is something like 26years old and he’s already created a 7 figure business. He’s just one of those special guys that got it done. I had a the opportunity to hang with Jonathan a couple of years ago in Florida and he’s just really a great guy. He offers tons of value for free as well so just by visiting his site and opting into his list you will get some great nuggets for free. Now I’m not saying that these are the only mlm training systems that are legitimate on the internet. What I’m saying is that I believe with all my heart that these program for sure are great. Obviously my #1 pick is MLSP because it’s what I use every day, but I trust all of these guys to lead you in the right direction as well.

Whatever you do, please please please make sure that you get started with some kind of system. Why not visit all of these sites and see which one seems to be the best fit for you.

As far as actual systems that encompass everything I would choose MLSP, Mike Dillards Black Belt Recruiting or Jonathans system. Deagan is focused more strictly on Lead generation which is probably “The” most important skill for you to learn in your business. I’m just not sure if his course includes lead capture page creation or tracking software.

I hope you get that I’m not just sharing a bunch of crap with you. These systems and trainers are the best out there. Until I complete my own system these  are the best.
